AT&T announced on Friday that it is taking the digital content creators and scripted originals to the AUDIENCE Network channel on DIRECTV. Making the public announcement gives strength to the intention of developing more original programming and building subscriber growth for Fullscreen’s VOD monthly service.
Since 2012 AT&T and Fullscreen have been working together in their effort to create new original programming. Projects have included, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl (2016 film), Filthy Preppy Teen$ and Shane and Friends.
Fullscreen is a global network of content creators and brands from the likes of YouTube, Vine, Instagram and Facebook. It is an independent YouTube network that works with content creators on monetizing their content through their platform.
At this present time Fullscreen generates more than 7 billion monthly video views and has a collective of 700 million subscribers amongst its content creator channels.
Some of the new projects lined up for viewing include:
- Single + Swiping, a docu-series about dating apps.
- Jack & Dean of All Trades, in which U.K. comedy duo Jack Howard and Dean Dobbs take on a variety of temp jobs with hilarious results
- Veitch 101, in which British comedian-author James Veitch skewers technology
“It’s a natural extension of our work with Fullscreen and we’re excited to bring the worlds of mobile video and premium TV entertainment together for our customers.” A statement made by David Christopher, CMO of AT&T Entertainment Group.
It will be interesting to see if the additional programming will help to grow Fullscreen’s VOD subscriber numbers.
