Cry is known for his Let’s Plays on many sorts of video games and currently has over 2,500,000 subscribers on YouTube.
“When thinking about what type of creators we wanted to bring onto the squad, we realized that one voice has been sorely missing. It is a silky smooth voice that has entertained for us for hours, haunted our dreams, and provided countless thoughtful opinions,” according to an announcement from Revelmode.
“The voice has no face, but the face has a name, and that name is Cry. It is with great pleasure that we announce the first new addition to the Revelmode squad. It sure took a minute, but welcome to the party, Cry!”
Revelmode was officially announced as a network earlier this year and has been hand-picking content creator talent for their network.
Some of the first picks to join the squad were Ken Morrison (CinnamonToastKen), Sean McLoughlin (JackSepticEye), Marzia Bisognin (CutiePieMarzia), Jelle van Vucht (Jelly) adnd Mark Fischbach (Markiplier).
Revelmode focuses its work on content, community and charity. The network is also partnered with Maker Studios, a media company that creates and distributes online content from creators through YouTube.
Maker Studios was purchased by Disney for an estimated $500 million in 2014 with an evaluation of close to $1 billion.
In recent days, Maker has undergone layoffs of approximately 30 employers. This comes after coming up short on the original contract which gave incentives of up to an additional $450 million if target profits were met, which the company did not fulfill. Maker will still receive $200 million.
Since the initial announcement of Revelmode’s launch, there still has not been one single video upload that represents the network’s work on their YouTube Channel. The channel has 80,000 subscribers.
