Are you using Twitter lists for your acting career? Actors should be taking advantage of the Twitter list feature to find, monitor and interact with people in the entertainment industry.
Step By Step
To get started, make sure you are logged into your Twitter account and go to your twitter avatar and click ‘Lists‘.
In the right hand sidebar, click on the ‘Create New List‘ button.
Once you click on Create New List, a window will pop up on your screen. Name Your Twitter List, Add Description and Set The Privacy. Keep in mind that the name and description you give your list is important because if your list is public, other people may wish to follow your list.
When you’re done, Save Your List.
After you have created your list, populate it with the handles of those who you think will be appropriate for the category.
To add someone to a list, type in a twitter handle from your list section and add them to your list.
That’s all there really is to it. This is a great way for actors for example to add ‘Casting Director’ lists or ‘Director’ lists. You will be able to monitor there tweets and engage in a conversation with something they may have posted. Not in a creepy stalker way but in a friendly professional way such as retweeting them or writing a comment. This keeps you in touch with people in your industry and will also help to grow potential working relationships.
You can also create lists for other categories like film or theatre events and it will really help you build up a nice networking calendar for yourself.
