Monologue Description: “WHAT GOD INTENDED” is a serio-comedy about how a mother views her kids.

Character Description: In this monologue, Lenora talks to her husband about how their children, despite their shortcomings, are going to turn out fine in life.  Lenora and her husband sit in the living room, in front of the television set.

LENORA: Oh will you just stop it now, just stop it, stop it now…pass me the t.v. guide and quit your complaining.  Miserable bastard you are…PASS ME THE T.V—thank you!

You could give anyone ulcers Charlie…When are you going to stop with the bicker babber talk?  Leave the girl alone!  Let her go out, let her have her fun.  She’s a young girl and she is entitled to it.  We only live once.

(she sighs)

…I know she’s a little touched dear…I mean, let’s face it…you can’t have it all.  She’s beautiful but we all know she has the brain of a tit but HEY, let it be.  It’s what God intended.  Look at our other child, complete opposite…A genius if there ever was one but atrocious to look at.  Let’s face the truth.

I am sure they will BOTH turn out alright.  They have us as parents and we turned out pretty okay.
