You Have Your Actor Blog, Now What?

Let us already assume that you have started your actor blog.  What do you do next and how do you begin generating content and a content marketing strategy?

It comes down to two essential things: content making, content marketing.

What is content?  Content is writing, photos, gifs, videos, anything you can create and put online that entertains or adds value for people.

Content that gives you the opportunity to express yourself and feel good about what you are sharing.  It comes from an inner need to create, communicate and connect with people.

4 Types of Blog Creative:  Which one are you?

  1. Creatives don’t have a blog.
  2. Creatives have a blog but don’t use it.
  3. Creatives have a blog and only posted up one or two things and then found it to be a waste of time.
  4. Creatives have a blog, use a blog and see positive results.

There’s this notion that once you have a blog and a few social media accounts, your work is done.  All you need to do is step back and watch the audience flow in, get fame and money and have a wonderful life.

You need to bust your ass.  You need to work your blog and your social media accounts.  Instead of spending half your day on Facebook or checking email, spend your time creating content.  Stuff that you believe in or find worth sharing or entertaining based on your creative projects.

If you are one of the people who proclaim that you work hard all day at your job and don’t have time, than either wake up earlier before work or carve out some time when you get home to develop content after work. There is no excuse.

What if you aren’t technically savvy and just don’t get the whole idea behind blogging and social media and all that.  It’s easier than you think.  You are certainly capable of putting a blog together and using a social media account.

If Baddie Winkle can do it, so can you.

The top content creators are where they are because they put the time in.  That is the only way you will see positive results.

You are a content creator, you don’t have time to be your average Joe.  You have to look through the blog/social media lens differently.

When I started Monologue Blogger, I didn’t know a damn thing about blogging or social media.  I was clueless.  All I knew was that I had this inner need to express myself in some way. That’s all I needed and that’s all you need. Over time you will learn everything you need to know through trial and error if you want to learn.

It starts with a need to express something and from that everything will work itself out if it matters that much to you.

Blogging is such a great center for you because it’s where you can house your own creative real estate and use rented land such as social media to promote and bring people back to your own property.

The best influencers and content creators online today are doing just that.  They are wise enough to use social media as a marketing/promotion tool to get people in their store back at their own website and blog.

Nobody is born a digital media genius.  Things like social media, the internet, your computer or smart phone are all tools and devices you can use to express what’s within you.

It’s just a question of what you will be creating and only you can answer that.

These articles I’ve written on Content Marketing Will Guide You:

Many times we can get so focused on generating content and then neglect the marketing factor of the content we produce.  It’s great to be fixated on creating content but then you need to be just as fixated on promoting your content.  Don’t ever lose sight of that.

You have your blog set up, don’t sit on it.  Start developing content you want to create. Don’t listen to anyone telling you that you can’t or that what you are doing is a stupid idea.  It’s not.  It’s not because it’s what YOU want to do.  Believe in yourself.  Take risks and go for it.

Create your own narrative.
