Lick My Wounds

In this drama monologue Crystal confronts her boyfriend about how she thinks he should break up with her if he isn’t happy.

CRYSTAL: If you don’t love me, leave. I can’t keep going on like this, either. I don’t want to be with someone who feels they are wasting their time. Really, I don’t need it. You claim that you don’t love me anymore, not like when we first met and you throw that in my face every time we have some sort of disagreement…so—

I’m not going to hold you back. I know you’re not happy, so why stay? Why be with someone you aren’t in love with? It’s just as bad as leaving someone you do love.

You’re right, we’ve tried, we’ve really tried and I am giving you permission to leave me. I’m pretty sure it’s what you need.
